Join us for an exciting and informative session about “Threads of Resilience,” a unique African textile printing art project funded by the Waltham Forest Council’s ‘Make it Happen’ grants program. Thread of Resilience will take place at the Chingford’s 228 Pop-up space on August 16th, 23th, and 30th, 2024 and is specially designed for children and teenagers aged 8 to 18 from black and minority ethnic backgrounds who are dealing with poor mental health or have close family members experiencing similar challenges. Parents or caregivers are also encouraged to join the introductory session and support their children throughout the project.
What to Expect at the Introductory Session:
During this session, we’ll introduce you to the exciting journey ahead with Threads of Resilience. Learn about the project’s goals, activities, and how you and your family can get involved. Plus, get a sneak peek into the world of monotype printing—a unique artistic technique you’ll have the chance to explore throughout the project.
Who can Join
Children aged 8 to 18 and their parents/guardians from black and minority ethnic backgrounds facing mental health challenges or with close relatives experiencing similar challenges living in Waltham Forest, with priority given to Chingford residents but residents from other areas of Waltham Forest will be taken into consideration.
*Important Notes
Under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and will need parental consent to enroll in the project.
Please note that only children need to reserve a spot. Parents and guardians do not need to make a reservation to attend. If you have two or more children within the eligible age and would like to register them, please contact us at baitaari.design@gmail.com
