All-weather sketching in Epping Forest to forge a greater connection/appreciation of nature and help improve sense of wellbeing. No experience necessary. To spend time outside drawing from observation means seeing and noticing in ways we just don’t do otherwise. To give time and attention to the natural world, and respond by drawing, reinforces a bond and connection with nature which can have a real effect on improving our sense of mood and wellbeing.

Green Sketching for adults is particularly suited to beginners or those who lack confidence in drawing as the process is key rather than the end result. However, those with more experience are also welcome to explore this approach to outdoor sketching.

These small group sessions will run whatever the weather and 2 meter distancing will be observed. We will give attention, close-up and distant, to elements such as line, tone, shape, form, texture & pattern etc., filling pages with fast and slow, non-precious sketches.

Getting there: Transport:  Wood Street Overground – 15 mins walk  / Buses: 230, W16 at station and 20 Bus stop (St Peter-in-the-forest Church) 7mins walk /  Car: Free street parking at weekends in nearby roads.
