We warmly invite you to a morning of beautiful family-friendly community protest.
We will be responding to the climate and ecological catastrophes we are facing and the recent declarations of a climate emergency by Waltham Forest Council and the UK Parliament. We would love to hear your opinions on what needs to happen next.
Throughout the morning you can expect:
– a t-shirt printing station
– facepainting with local wildlife designs
– guerrilla gardening: get involved with planter building and planting around the trees
– a listening station for those who want to talk about how they are feeling about the climate emergency, or anything else!
– an info table and friendly local people ready to help you find out more about XR and the climate emergency
– the opportunity to have your say about what Waltham Forest council should be doing: we will be conducting questionnaires which will be given to the council
10am – 12.30pm: Regenerative culture activities

11 – 11.30am: Live music from folk sensations Jig 17
11.30am – 12.30pm: Children’s games and sessions

This session is open to all ages and will explore some of the vocabulary and ideas of protest chants. There will also be lots of singing and shouting – BYO noise!

Learn about how we can help the earth by making choices in our lives every day… then compete in teams to sort the good ideas from the bad ideas!
Will involve running and discussion!
Recommended for ages 9-12.
/// 12:10 Story Time ///
Aimed at younger children but open to all, we will be reading and discussing some children’s stories with environmental themes as well as introducing the XR children’s book: Our Fight.
12.30pm: Lunch to share
Everyone is welcome and there are loads of different ways to get involved.

Extinction Rebellion is a peaceful international movement that aims to achieve radical change in order to minimise the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse.
