Autumn is officially in motion — nights are longer and the weather is sketchy. So please join us at St Mary’s Church 8 Church End, London E17 9RJ and ceilidh for a cause. Can you Ceilidh? is a night you won’t want to miss. It will be an evening of live music and two sets of dancing, with a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Anyone will be able to dance — no experience needed.
The band, Stroma, are all from London but are back from their tour to play Can you Ceilidh? for one night only. Their caller, backed by a two-piece fiddle, guitar will guide you through all the traditional dances. If you want to check out the band click here: Storma
Tickets are on sale here at an early bird rate of £20, which includes entrance and your first drink free. Tickets on the door will be £25 but expect this event to sell out fast.
Dancing is thirsty work so our bar will be going all night with a selection of snacks available too. Bring extra ££ for the raffle, where you can walk away with some exciting prizes.
The proceeds of the evening will be going to Project Trust, the charity sending Zach Dix to teach schoolchildren English in Honduras in January 2025. Children in remote areas of Honduras have little access to schooling: 32% are out of school, according to Save the Children. Those lucky enough to attend regularly go through school without language teachers (even though learning English is compulsory), so the aim is to provide a full-time English teacher for the school, who will also bring activities to the wider community.
