The Adam Bishop Quartet was formed in 2021 after a 13 year break from jazz with the purpose of performing the original arrangements of “bebop” repertoire from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s while avoiding any compositions by Charlie Parker. Composers such as Bud Powell, Tadd Dameron, John Lewis, George Shearing and Dizzy
Gillespie form the main core of sources. Far from being a museum piece, instead they show the charm and innovation of this music in it’s original form.
At this evenings concert, the second set will be the exceptional but often overlooked Harold Land album “The Fox”.
