Discover a digital poetry trail around the borough, where QR codes take explorers on a poetic journey of the written word. Scan the QR codes to read poems and watch videos from different local wordsmiths from many different backgrounds including the winning submissions from the Write Across Waltham Forest poetry competition and compositions from our Poetry Champions; Adreena Leeanne, Mo Gallaccio, Khaled Hakim, Lemzi, Paul McGrane and Patrick Evans.
The trail will introduce you to a broad range of genres from limericks to lyrics, sonnets to slam poetry submitted by writers from across the community. Look out for the colourful bollards and lamp-posts denoting a poetry route stop in your area, and find the Digital Poetry Map on the website to enjoy the range of poetic talent across the borough.
This project is in partnership with The Royal Society of Literature and the Museum of London, whose project “Write Across London” runs from October, in the run up to National Poetry Day.
