The Waltham Forest Fashion market curated by Fashion District at Fellowship Square on 7 and 8 August will showcase the innovative work of local independent designers and curators of vintage clothing and accessories. Over twenty businesses from across the borough will be offering a wide selection of pre-loved and designer items to suit all budgets. The market offers a great opportunity to shop and browse the latest trends and support local talent.
Local arts gurus Continental Drifts are back with a special line-up of music for the weekend, this time focusing on DJs to keep events buzzing.
On Saturday, Global Local Presents – A Local Global Special with Emily Dust (Radio One and 1 Xtra) and Friends. Firmly rooted in the UK’s underground, Emily seamlessly blends together forward-thinking club sounds like dancehall, baile funk, UK, bass, kuduro, batida and gqom.
Sunday sees Fedz and Movimientos on the decks – two really great Djs covering the sounds of Latin Remix with Fedz amazing street poetry and strong lyrical spoken Word.
Local community dance group Leaders will be performing some special surprise flash mob dance performances (Sunday only) at 1pm and 3pm in and around Fellowship Fountain.
The Square will also host “And Here We Meet”, a stunning visual art installation exploring multiculturalism, colour and sustainable materials created by Sol Sato and local art students. The installation will be developed over the weekend and placed in situ in the large trees at the top of Fellowship Square to view over the following week
A tasty selection of food and drink will also be on offer from local vendors Curry Cats, Two Chefs, London Starrs and Ruttle and Rowe.
