As part of the Mayor’s Community Weekend 2025, we’re inviting local residents of all ages to take part in an uplifting afternoon packed with live performances, hands-on creative workshops, and feel-good vibes celebrating the rich cultural heritage of West Africa and the Caribbean.

🎶 Live Performance: Routes to Rhythm
Experience the energy of our signature show featuring vibrant African and Caribbean music, dance, and storytelling – with a special performance by acclaimed musician and griot Koroleko Moussa and celebrated professional dancer Celestina Banjo.
🎨 Creative Workshops – Get Stuck In!
- Decorate a Plant Pot Head with the incredible team from The Meshway
- Design Your Own Djembe Drum using leather and cork, led by artist Amelie Matignon
- Try Out Traditional Drumming and Dance styles from across West Africa and the Caribbean
🎧 All-Afternoon DJ Set
Dance, relax, or soak up the atmosphere with sounds curated by DJ Muvments.
