‘History’s Greatest Love Story told by William Shakespeare, History’s Greatest Writer’
The play picks up the story begun in ‘Julius Caesar’, with the Roman world ruled by the triumvirate of Antony, Octavius Caesar and Lepidus. As personal betrayals and political ambitions threaten to tear apart the Roman Republic, the passionate relationship between Antony and Cleopatra is put under increasing pressure.
The Open Air Theatre is a fabulous setting for a play. With the glamour of Roman and Egyptian costumes, it’s Shakespeare as intended; outdoor, pacy, colourful and up close to the audience. Brought to you by the Greek Theatre Players – actors drawn from a number of local groups who come together for an annual Shakespeare production. In case of rain, we perform inside in the schools Drama Studio.
